The challenge
A large guarded community with two staffed gates, a clubhouse and pavilion, a golf club that is a secure sub-community inside the larger one, and an RV park on the way — all running on aging, partly proprietary gate equipment with no single place to call.
What we did
We moved the gate system onto a cloud-based access platform with resident-facing visitor management, migrated the database, and set up workstation management for the guards. We added vehicle RFID tag readers and license plate recognition and capture at the entrances, replaced gate motors, and put video surveillance with live-feed monitors at each location. Underneath it all we installed firewalls, Wi-Fi and switches at every site and protected the equipment with battery backup and surge protection. Along the way we removed proprietary equipment so the association isn't locked to any one vendor.
The result
Residents add vendors, family and permanent guests themselves and issue temporary passes that expire on their own; credentials unused for a year are flagged and purged so the database stays current. Two guarded gates, the clubhouse and soon the RV park run on one cloud platform, and the HOA has one number to call for the entire gate system. Insyte works directly with the CAM and the guards to keep the entrances running, and advises the board on options and cost for what comes next.
